When working on stage asking for permission to do something new is usually important. It helps to coordinate your actions with others on stage or back stage. If you venture to do “your own thing” you risk to mess things up for the people around you or in the worst case even an accident. When you develop your new career this logic doesn’t really apply anymore. You will need to do your own thing and probably not want to share it with everyone around you. It feels awkward at the beginning but eventually you’ll get used to it and find new ways to connect.
