A stage environment is a controlled environment. You can have a sunrise at 6pm or fog appear on demand. When you prepare a performance, you put a lot of care to perfectly integrate with these staged events to optimise the experience for your audience. Sometimes this tendency to control can bleed into your daily life, too. However, in your daily life hardly anything is under your control but rather a playground of unforeseeable opportunities. But having access to those opportunities comes at a price and it is that you will not be in full control.
